Compress your video before upload
Smaller files upload reliably on mobile — 720p is enough for analysis.
Target: one wave, side angle, under 45 seconds, file under 95 MB.
720p is usually enough; use 1080p only if the surfer fills the frame.

📺 TV / streaming heat — workflow that works TESTED
If you watch on YouTube, a surf app, or live TV, this is usually the easiest path to upload:
- Screen-record on your phone while the wave plays (iPhone: Control Center → Screen Recording).
- Stop when the ride ends — keep clips under 45 seconds.
- AirDrop to Mac or transfer via cloud/WhatsApp.
- Use a video compressor app → export 720p or 1080p MP4, target under 95 MB.
- On the site: level Elite athlete (CT / world tour), clip type Ride section (wave pool) → upload.
Tip: start recording right when the surfer’s wave begins. 1080p screen capture works; avoid low-quality distant TV recordings (360p).
Before recording (best — wave pool / beach)
- iPhone: Settings → Camera → 1080p HD at 30 fps (or 720p for smaller files).
- Android: 1080p 30 fps; avoid 4K/60 fps for direct upload.
- Wave pool: side profile, one wave, surfer visible.
Already recorded — file too large?
What to avoid
- Uploading 4K or multi-minute files — queue and mobile upload fail.
- Screen recordings at 360p or tiny surfer in frame.
- Heavy HEVC .mov without compressing to MP4.
We’re improving
Compression is still hard for many users. We’re working on upload limits, faster processing, and better maneuver detection. Wave-pool partners can get priority queue on Park & Club plans.
